Arun celebrates record 11 Green Flag Awards

Arun is celebrating a record 11 Green Flag Awards for its parks, gardens and green spaces, placing the district first overall among district and borough councils in South-East England.

The Green Flag Award recognises well-managed parks and green spaces across the UK and around the world.

West Green, water play – now operating summer opening hours!

Operated by Freedom Leisure on behalf of Arun District Council, West Green Water Play, on Littlehampton seafront, is welcoming families throughout the summer holidays.

Opening hours are now 11am to 6pm until Monday, 31 August 2026. The site also includes a climbing wall, courts for beach volleyball, basketball and pétanque and hammocks to relax in, along with Changing Places facilities and food and drink kiosks.

Government delays decision on new councils for West Sussex

The government has confirmed a further delay to its decision on local government reorganisation for West Sussex. We now expect the decision in October 2026.

Ketchup fly-tippers ordered to pay nearly £17,000

A company and its director have been ordered to pay almost £17,000 after a trailer loaded with hundreds of bottles of tomato ketchup was dumped in a Littlehampton car park.

Community Safety Grant Fund returns to Arun after successful first round

The Safer Arun Partnership has announced a second round of its successful Community Safety Grant Fund.

The fund, which offers grants of up to £2,500, supports community-led projects that help make the district safer, reduce crime and antisocial behaviour, and protect vulnerable residents.
